Operation Sindoor and National Recognition

Colonel Qureshi gained national prominence during ‘Operation Sindoor’ in 2025, a strategic military response following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. As one of the leading officers, she addressed the nation alongside Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, marking a significant moment where women officers were at the forefront of national defense communication.

Her poised and commanding presence during the press briefing not only conveyed the operation’s success but also symbolized the evolving dynamics of leadership within the Indian Armed Forces. The operation’s name, ‘Sindoor’, resonated deeply, with her mother noting that “only women know the importance of ‘sindoor'”, emphasizing the cultural and emotional significance of the mission.
